Sometimes we just get to caught up in things.
Sometimes we take a thought and wear it out.
Take the thought, "I need to find myself."
I know that can have a good meaning, I know there is a slice of truth to it.
I also know we have gone crazy with it and made it way to big of a deal.
We hear people say things like, "I'm more than my husband's wife, or my children's mother or my parents daughter."
They say they don't want to be defined by their job or where they live or where they are from.
Sometimes that thought sends them on a journey that has no end
At the end of our life nothing will have mattered more to us than being the wife of our husband or the mother of our children or the daughter of our parents.
Even our daily work will seem of significance.
Truth be told we are a part of our work, it is a part of us.
To a large degree there is nothing wrong with that, it's just the way it is.
So take some time to find out what you like and what makes you tick but don't let yourself get caught up on the merry-go-round of "finding yourself."
It's a ride that never stops and if it did when you got off you would find you were still your husband's wife, the mother of your children and the daughter of your parents and your life work would still be there.
And no matter how the world tries to twist it or make you discontent with that, it's true and it's beautiful.
Enjoy who you are today.
No one else can be who you are, that's the secret, that's the ticket.
You see that's the real quest, we all pretty much already know who we are and it is defined in a lot of ways.
We just need to step up and into being the best of who we are.
If you need to put something down that's holding you back, put it down, if you need to step it up a notch step it up.
Then just get about the business of being the best you, you can be.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14
